Pablo Hernandez has been the most inventive player in the Championship this season, according to a report.

The Yorkshire Evening Post cite statistics that show the experienced Spaniard has no equal in the division when it comes to creating chances for his team.

It states that Hernandez is the Championship's most creative player when it comes to his key passing with an overall average of 3.08 key passes per game.

He also holds a 73.4 per cent pass completion ratio. Hernandez has created 34 chances for the Whites this season.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claim Leeds are in line to tie down the playmaker after he proved his value in the opening months of his loan deal.

It is said that Leeds are keen to convert the loan of Hernandez, 31, into a permanent transfer when the winter window opens.

The Spain international, who has won four caps for his country, joined Leeds on an initial five-month loan in August from Qatari club Al-Arabi.

It is said that Al-Arabi do not expect Hernandez to return to the emirate and that Leeds planned at the outset to convert his deal to a full-time agreement until the end of this season, with the option of retaining him for the 2017-18 term.

Hernandez has settled in well at Elland Road after taking a few weeks to acclimatise and improve his match fitness.

He has made 15 appearances for Garry Monk's side in all competitions, including 12 league starts, and has scored two goals and supplied two assists.

Hernandez has been increasingly influential in recent weeks during the team's run of nine wins from 12 matches, which has taken Leeds into the top six for the first time since December 2013.
