COMMENT

Leeds fans might not have been expecting much from Tuesday night's Championship clash at Fulham, in which case the drive back north might not have been so bad after a 2-0 defeat.

Third-placed Fulham are still chasing automatic promotion back to the Premier League and were the superior side on the night, but Leeds were unlucky.

The first Fulham goal was a freak, a bounce off the back of Kevin McDonald after Aleksandar Mitrovic rose to try to head the ball.

And the second came immediately after Leeds striker Caleb Ekuban should have made it 1-1 after he was through with just the keeper to beat.

30 seconds later it was 2-0 and Leeds were beaten.

It was another disappointing defeat, but how did each of the Whites players get on?

Here, Football Insider has rated all of the club's stars out of 10, including one player who was a woeful 3/10 and must be binned for the next game.

It wasn't all bad though and one player held his head up high with an 8/10.

Goalkeeper and defenders

Bailey Peacock-Farrell - 8: In the end it counted for nothing, but Peacock-Farrell put in another great display between the sticks, with good saves from Mitrovic and Sessegnon. But for him, the margin of defeat would have been a lot worse and he was the one shining light for Paul Heckingbottom.

Gaetano Berardi - 5: No one excelled in the Leeds defence and Berardi was made to look vulnerable on the left side.

Pontus Jansson - 6: Actually did okay for the most part against Mitrovic but isn't putting in the same sort of commanding performances that endeared him to the Leeds faithful.

Matthew Pennington - 5: A poor performance that saw him lose out to Mitrovic when they tussled. Not the sort of display that will lead to the fans hoping for a permanent summer deal.

Stuart Dallas - 5: Beaten all ends up at times by Sessegnon but did seem to pull himself together in the second half.

Ronaldo Vieira - 6: Tried hard but was slightly off the pace after a good performance in the match on Friday. Broke play up better in the second half but gave away a lot of fouls and gave the ball away too much. Better than most of the Leeds players though.

Eunan O'Kane - 4: If there was one Leeds player fans would have been hoping to go off injured it would have been O'Kane. He's been poor for the majority of 2018 and he didn't show anything before he was forced off in the 22nd minute on Tuesday night.

Samu Saiz - 5: Another lacklustre performance from the Spaniard, Saiz tried hard but nothing he did seemed to come off.

Ezgjan Alioski - 6: Ran his heart out down the right-hand side but not everything he tried came off. Leeds fans will at least appreciate the effort though.

Pablo Hernandez - 6: One of the better players, when he got himself into the game.

Caleb Ekuban - 3: You've got to feel a bit sorry for Ekuban and there's a feeling that he's a couple of goals off finding his feet, but he was responsible for the loss. If he'd scored when he was clean through Leeds could have come away with a point.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga (72') - 5: Match was gone when he came on and was cynically fouled when it looked like he might be in with a chance for a goal.

Kalvin Phillips (22') - 6: Was immediately better than O'Kane when he was introduced after an injury. Brought some aggression to the Leeds game but quality wasn't good enough.

Jay-Roy Grot (72') - 4: Missed a glaring chance almost as soon as he came on. If the Leeds strikers had put away their chances this season we might be singing a different song.
