Kevin Campbell has tipped Leeds United to meet Huddersfield Town's valuation of Lewis O'Brien before the transfer window shuts.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker is adamant the 22-year-old would be a "great signing" for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Leeds saw an opening bid of around £2-3million rejected by the Terriers, who felt the amount offered was “derisory”.

According to The Athletic's Phil Hay (August 8th), O’Brien is valued by Huddersfield Town at £8million-plus.

When asked by Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs if he expects Leeds to eventually meet Huddersfield's demands, Campbell said:

"I can see Leeds paying that because it is not an amount that is going to break the bank for them, let's be honest.

"Yes, O'Brien is by no means the finished article but he is a very good player who I think would improve a lot under the coaching of someone like Marcelo Bielsa.

"He could definitely help their cause this season. I'm sure he would turn out to be a great signing for them."
