Leeds United fans have demanded Daniel Farke be sacked immediately after losing 1-0 to Southampton in the playoff final.

A goal from Adam Armstrong on 24 minutes sealed Leeds' fate as they were unable to penetrate the Saints' defence to find an equaliser in over 100 minutes of football.

Farke, 47, took over at Leeds following their relegation last summer and was tasked with bringing them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking - a task he has failed to achieve.

The boss' previous promotion experience with Norwich failed to make the difference as touchy form towards the end of the season saw Leicester and Ipswich seal automatic promotion, while Leeds' playoff curse continued.

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Farke should keep his job regardless of their fate, but fans have already begun calling for his head.

Supporters pointed to a lack of tactical flexibility, negative football and the talent at his disposal as reasons the German cannot remain as their manager after failing to earn promotion.
