'Leeds make Darko Gyabi exit decision amid Sean Longstaff update' 

Leeds United will make a significant call on Darko Gyabi's future amid their advances for Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

The Whites enjoyed a hugely successful Championship campaign last term, winning the second-tier title with a 100-point tally.

However, Gyabi did not play a part in last season's triumph, instead spending the season on loan with Plymouth Argyle, who suffered relegation to League One.

Meanwhile, Leeds have eyed a move for Longstaff, who made just eight Premier League starts for Newcastle last campaign.

Gyabi was sent on loan to Plymouth last season, thanks to the competition for places in Daniel Farke's midfield from the likes of Ao Tanaka, Ilia Gruev, and Joe Rothwell.

The West Yorkshire side did not sign Rothwell from Bournemouth permanently, before the 30-year-old subsequently joined Scottish Premiership giants Rangers.

His Elland Road departure could have paved the way for Gyabi to enjoy more game time at Leeds, but The Athletic revealed on Monday, 7 July, that Farke's men have submitted an offer of £10million plus £2m in add-ons for Longstaff.

The Whites' significant advances for Longstaff show that Gyabi once again has no place in the West Yorkshire club's plans and will likely depart once again this summer.

Gyabi would be a great addition for a Championship side

Gyabi's contract with Leeds expires next summer, meaning that Farke should look to cash in on the 21-year-old ahead of next season, as opposed to facilitating another loan move.

Even though Plymouth suffered relegation to League One last season, the former Manchester City youngster proved both his dynamic tendencies and his versatility in Argyle colours.

Therefore, he would be a solid addition for a Championship outfit, regardless of their respective ambitions in the second tier.

Gyabi could be a particularly strong acquisition for a newly promoted Championship side, as he boasts a healthy mix of experience and potential at the age of just 21.

The Leeds man has room for improvement in an attacking sense, having scored just one goal alongside two assists in 48 appearances across all competitions last term.

However, his ability to perform as both a central midfielder and a wing-back should attract suitors in the transfer market this summer.
