Jude Bellingham would be the "perfect" signing for Liverpool next year, according to Paul Robinson.

The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the 18-year-old could play in the midfield or as part of the front three.

As reported by Sport1 (October 26th), Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed Liverpool's interest in Bellingham.

A number of top European clubs are expected to make a move to sign the England international next summer.

Bellingham has contributed three goals and seven assists in 18 appearances this season.

His contract at Dortmund runs until the summer of 2025.

Robinson believes the centre-midfielder is going to be "better than Jadon Sancho", who joined Manchester United in a £73million deal in July.

"He is already a top-class player at 18," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.

"He's going to be better than Sancho coming out of the Bundesliga as well.

"The way that Liverpool play, he could fit perfectly into their system. The way Klopp plays and what he asks of his players, it would be a great fit.

"Bellingham could play in that front three or he could play in behind that front three.

"I have been so impressed with him this season. He is direct, he is not afraid to run at defenders and he also has great game management. You can tell he is knowledgable about the game. He know the right time to pass the ball.

"The way that Liverpool play, he would fit perfectly into that team."
