Liverpool fans have urged the club to sell forward Diogo Jota after the club revealed he won't be back until after the international break.

The 27-year-old picked up an injury in their 2-1 Premier League win over Chelsea on matchday eight after a clash with defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

Adarabioyo fell on Jota, fracturing his rib and forcing him to sit out Liverpool's next five games across all competitions.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Saturday, Arne Slot confirmed Jota is still out.

“We expect him back after the international break… the first weeks after the international break we expect him back.

“I always say in Holland there is privacy about this and I don’t know how it is over here. Like I just said, he will be back one or two weeks after the international break.”

Liverpool fans losing patience with Diogo Jota

Since joining the club in 2021, the forward has missed 357 days through injury, totaling 81 games across all competitions for club and country.

Frustrated by his latest injury update, Liverpool fans have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to urge the club to sell Jota.
