Liverpool have dropped Origi exit 'hint' as pundit says 'he is available'
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's recent comments suggest Divock Origi will be allowed to leave the club next year, according to Paul Robinson.
The former England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Klopp's remarks were "strange" ahead of the African Cup of Nations in January.
Origi was the hero once again for Liverpool after he scored a last-minute winner against Wolves on Saturday.
As quoted by The Athletic (4 December), Klopp said he hopes the Belgian striker "one day finds a manager who plays him more".
Origi reportedly has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Anfield.
When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs for his assessment of Origi's future, Robinson said: "I didn't know what to read into Klopp's comments.
"I didn't know if Klopp was resigned to losing him. Perhaps he was hinting that if anyone wants him, he is available. That was what I read into it at first.
"Klopp obviously has a great relationship with Origi. He has been happy to be a bit-part player for a long time.
"Origi might play a bit more in January with [Mohamed] Salah and [Sadio] Mane at the African Cup of Nations. For that reason I don't think they will let him go in January.
"For the manager to say that though, it is a strange one. If you read between the lines Klopp was suggesting Origi deserves a move to a team where he will play. Perhaps we will see him leave in the summer."
