Brad Smith will be given the green light to fly to the UK from Liverpool's US training base in the next 24 hours to complete a £6million move to Bournemouth, according to a report.

The left-back trained with the Liverpool squad in Pato Alto on Sunday after it emerged on Saturday night that he had been the subject of a bid from Eddie Howe's team.

The Mail claim he is expected to be given permission to fly home in the next 24 hours and seal a transfer to Bournemouth.

This comes after Sky Sports reported on their official Twitter account that Liverpool haf given their Premier League rivals permission to discuss personal terms with the left-back, 22.

Smith, who flew out with Liverpool on Thursday to join their USA tour, is set to become the latest in a line of young players to leave Anfield.

Jordon Ibe, 20, joined Bournemouth from Liverpool in a £15million deal a fortnight ago and Sergi Canos, 19, moved to Norwich for £2.5million.

Cherries boss Howe already has left-backs Charlie Daniels and Tyrone Mings but Smith can also play on the left wing.

Australia international Smith has made 11 appearances for Liverpool and delivered a series of impressive performances last season when he stood in for first-choice Alberto Moreno.

Smith's seemingly imminent departure will prompt speculation that manager Jurgen Klopp has another left-back lined up to compete with Moreno for the No1 spot.
