Liverpool trio Adrian, Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara will all leave at the end of the season, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that they will all exit Anfield when their contracts will expire this summer.

He added, however, that it is difficult for the Reds to make any further concrete exit decisions given that a new manager is not yet in place.

Current boss Jurgen Klopp will leave Anfield at the end of the season, with O’Rourke expecting him to be followed by Adrian, Matip and Thiago.

Three Liverpool stars set for summer exits

O’Rourke explained that Adrian, 37, has simply been at the club to help out the likes of Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher, but will now move on.

He added that Matip, 32, meanwhile was very unlucky to have picked up a serious knee injury earlier this season when he was a regular starter, with a new deal likely to have gone his way had he remained free from injury.

O’Rourke told Football Insider that their exits will free up money on Liverpool’s wage bill, with Thiago, 33, one of the highest earners at Anfield, while Matip is also on good money.

Midfield ace Thiago could make a quick exit, with the Spaniard having already instructed his agent to find him a new club, sources told Football Insider on Wednesday (17 April).
