Lyon do not need to sell their star players this summer, according to manager Bruno Genesio.

Top scorer Alexandre Lacazette has been targeted by West Ham this summer and, as reported by Football Insiderhave had a bid of £32million for the striker rejected.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino went public with his interest in signing Samuel Umtiti last month as he eyes defensive reinforcements this summer.

Genesio insists the club are not in a position where they need to sell their best players as he gave updates on the futures of Lacazette and Umtiti.

"I have asked that [Corentin] Tolisso and Lacazette remain with us." Genesio told football website Goal. "The club has no need to sell players. My wish is to keep the majority of players."

Although Genesio was adamant that Lacazette and Tolisso were not leaving he was less certain about holding on to the centre-back.

"Sam Umtiti is at the Euro's and he is a player of Olmpique Lyonnais," said the Lyon manager to Goal. "That's all I can say for now."

Umtiti is regarded as one of the most highly rated young defenders in Europe and was included in France's Euro 2016 squad after replacing Jeremy Mathieu.

The Cameroon-born star has been a mainstay of the Lyon team that finished second in Ligue 1 this season and is able to play at either left-back or centre-half.
