Ianis Hagi has attracted the attention of past and present Rangers stars after sharing an update on social media.

The Romanian has been given a reduced role by Barry Ferguson in recent weeks, having become so instrumental after being allowed back into the squad during Philippe Clement's reign at Rangers.

He has only started two of the Gers' five games since the Belgian was sacked, but that did not stop Hagi from starring during the international break as Romania faced Bosnia and Herzegovina and San Marino.

After joining the action at half-time during the opening match, the 26-year-old topped off his two-week break with a goal in the 5-1 romping of San Marino as they took an important step towards World Cup 2026 qualification.

Ianis Hagi returns to Ibrox in form after San Marino thrashing

Taking to Instagram [26 March], Hagi wrote: "A week with the Romanian national team," earning likes from his teammates Nico Raskin, Vaclav Cerny and Mohamed Diomande, who all starred during the international break.

The midfielder also gained attention from former Ibrox stars Malik Tillman, who was linked with Man United and Tottenham in January, Derby's Kemar Roofe, and even Southampton's Joe Aribo.

With just a handful of matches remaining, Vaclav Cerny might have already played his final league game for Rangers, with Tom Lawrence, Ridvan Yilmaz and Cyriel Dessers all linked with summer exits.

Raskin has also been tipped to leave Rangers, having impressed enough to earn himself a call-up to the Belgium national team and star in his first start during a 3-1 win over Ukraine.

Ianis Hagi will hope to bring similar form back to Ibrox.

With the 49ers Enterprises looking to finalise a takeover deal, though, it might be entirely plausible that the Light Blues can either keep these players or replace them with higher quality stars.

Once the paperwork is exchanged, one of the first items on the agenda should be finding a permanent manager, whether Ferguson has done enough to remain at Rangers or someone else comes in.

Ally McCoist told Football Insider that Rafa Benitez would be interested in joining Rangers, though he likely faces competition from Derek McInnes, Steven Gerrard and Russell Martin.

Quite the summer of change awaits at Ibrox.
