Erling Haaland is paving the way to sensationally quit Man City, sources have told Football Insider.

The City superstar, 24, is believed to be partly responsible for a poor atmosphere in the dressing room as the team's abysmal run intensifies.

One well-placed source has told Football Insider that Haaland is "constantly moaning about everything" behind the scenes at the Etihad Stadium.

Those with knowledge of what is going on at City believe the superstar striker is laying the groundwork to eventually leave the club where he has plundered goals at an astonishing rate in three seasons.

It comes at a time when the Norway international star has faced a lean spell in front of goal, with Pep Guardiola's side enduring the worst run of form of the manager's extraordinary career.

He has scored just one goal in the last six Premier League games after starting the season in outstanding fashion, smashing 10 goals in five top-flight games.

Haaland (13 goals) has subsequently been surpassed by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (15) in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

He has won the award in back-to-back seasons since his arrival in England from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

The 24-year-old's contract at the Etihad Stadium is set to run until June 2027.

Speaking to the media, Guardiola defended his striker, insisting: “Erling is so important for us, will be important for us and we need to use him better.”

But behind the scenes, Haaland - who has long been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid - is laying the groundwork to leave City in the coming transfer windows.

He has hit 108 goals in 122 total games for the English champions, who sit seventh in the Premier League and are already 12 points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.
