Man United could ask for a fee of between £40-50million for outcast Jadon Sancho in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old is out on loan at Borussia Dortmund following a fall-out with United boss Erik ten Hag.

However, Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has already poured cold water on the potential for a permanent deal in the off-season.

He told Sky Sport Germany that it would be "very, very difficult" to negotiate a full-time return for Sancho after selling him to United for a reported £73million in 2021.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Red Devils will demand a huge fee for the winger even though his valuation has plummeted since that deal.

It is believed the England international's mega-money wages will also be a problem for Dortmund.

According to FBRef, Sancho earns a weekly wage of £250,000 at Old Trafford.

The London-born ace has made three appearances since returning to Dortmund in January, notching two assists.

He started the season as an attacking option for Man United but was exiled following a high-profile spat with manager Ten Hag in September.

The duo clashed in a disagreement over the winger’s training levels – with Sancho hitting back at his manager on social media after Ten Hag publicly criticised his work rate.

He is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2026.
