Man United fans rage at 'disrespectful' Sir Alex Ferguson decision

Man United fans are furious with the club for their "disrespectful" decision to cut Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial contract.

According to The Athletic, the 20-time champions have cut the 82-year-old’s multi-million-pound contract with the club.

The former United boss is set to remain part of the club in a non-executive director role and will be welcome to continue attending matches.

This is the latest in a string of cost-cutting decisions made by INEOS, with the most successful manager in the club’s history now finding himself on the chopping block.

Ferguson won 38 trophies during his 26-year stint in charge of the Premier League giants, and he was kept on as a global club ambassador and club director since his departure in 2013.

INEOS have been looking to reduce costs since getting involved in the club, which led to the club making 250 members of staff redundant over the summer.
