Man United fans are refusing to get their hopes up about Mason Mount's future at the club despite his return to fitness.

The 25-year-old has returned to training after picking up a head injury in their 3-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham earlier in the season.

Mount is one of several players signed by former manager Erik ten Hag who have failed to justify their price tag since making the move to Old Trafford.

Various injury issues have seriously hampered his progress, leaving him with just 26 appearances and one goal under his belt since joining the club.

The appointment of Ruben Amorim offers a clean slate for everyone at the 20-time champions, with Mount theoretically fitting seamlessly into his style of play.

Man United fans losing faith in Mason Mount

Amorim took charge of his first training session at Carrington on Monday (November 18) and in footage released by the club, he can be heard praising Mount's movement.

Still, fans are unconvinced by the attacking midfielder and have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to suggest his return will be shortlived.
