Incoming Ajax CEO Alex Kroes is keen on re-appointing Man United manager Erik ten Hag, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that Kroes is eager to bring the Dutchman , 54, back to the Dutch giants, who are seeking a replacement for interim coach John van't Schip.

The pair have strong links to the agency Sports Entertainment Group (SEG), which was co-founded by Kroes, represents ten Hag and employs his son Nigel.

Controversially, multiple United signings under Ten Hag are represented by SEG, including Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Sofyan Amrabat and Antony.

Ajax to approach Man United manager Erik ten Hag

There have been concerns from the new Man United regime, headed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, regarding SEG's influence and how their clients have been favoured at the club.

SEG have also negotiated multiple player sales during Ten Hag's tenure in Manchester.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Kroes is planning to approach the United boss regarding the soon-to-be-vacant position at the Dutch giants amid growing pressure on his position at Old Trafford.

Among those shortlisted to join is Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, with Football Insider revealing (29 February) that he is seen as the "stand-out candidate" by the hierarchy.

Ten Hag left Ajax in 2022 and was appointed United boss in April of the same year.
