Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has posted on Instagram in response to a confirmed exit from Stamford Bridge.

Renato Veiga only joined the Blues in the summer transfer window, when he signed from Swiss side Basel on a seven-year contract (BBC Sport).

However, the left-back found game time hard to come by with Enzo Maresca's side, starting just one Premier League game since his arrival (Soccerway).

As a result he has now secured a temporary move away from Chelsea, which has sparked a response from Cucurella.

Chelsea man reacts as Veiga seals Juventus loan move

On Monday (27 January) it was announced that Veiga has completed a move to Italian side Juventus on loan for the remainder of the season.

He then followed that up with a post on his Instagram page, expressing his happiness about joining a club such as Juventus.

Cucurella was keen to show his support for Veiga, with his fellow Blues defender simply commenting on that post "El Loco" alongside a love-eyes emoji.

Football Insider Verdict

Given his lack of game time so far this season it did make sense for Chelsea to loan Veiga out in the transfer window.

He can now play regular football in the coming months, putting him a stronger position to compete for a place in the side when he returns, than if he mostly sat on the bench until the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see if the future of Veiga has an impact on the future of another left-sided defender at Chelsea, Ben Chilwell, given the speculation around his future recently.

Maresca may not want to leave himself too short on options in that area, meaning the club may now have to give even more thought over a potential exit for the Englishman.
