Mario Lemina was involved in an on-field bust-up with a member of the Wolves coaching staff as tempers flared after they suffered another defeat as the pressure mounts on Gary O’Neil.

The Midlands giants were defeated 2-1 by West Ham United as goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen condemned them to their third straight defeat.

The loss kept Wolves second from bottom in the Premier League table and emotions ended up spilling out after the final whistle was blown.

The 31-year-old was at the centre of the situation as he ended up in a scuffle with Bowen, which then became even more serious when his own teammates and club staff tried to calm him down.

Lemina could be seen pushing his fellow teammates Toti Gomes and Nelson Semedo, while he also pushed Wolves coach Shaun Derry as his frustrations spilled out.

The club captain was showcasing his emotion about the situation and evidently felt frustrated about their 10th loss of the season, but his actions did divide fans online.

Wolves’ defeat has left question marks over Gary O’Neil’s future

The loss on Monday (8 December) night placed even more pressure on O’Neil, whose future at the Molineux Stadium is looking uncertain.

Wolves are four points adrift of safety and have conceded more goals than any other team in the Premier League this season.
