McAvennie slams 'troublemaking' Rangers as update 'could harm every SFA club'
Frank McAvennie has slammed Rangers amid their ongoing court battle against the SFA.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, isn't happy with the Gers' continued "troublemaking".
On 1st August, The Scottish Sun claimed Rangers are “at war” with the league over their sponsorship deal with online car dealership Cinch.
It is reported that Rangers insist there is a clause in the SPFL rulebook which allows them to snub any advertising which may impact their own sponsorship deals
In this case, this would concern a conflict of interest between Cinch and Douglas Park’s own used car business.
On Thursday (21 October) Park won his court battle against the SPFL which will allow his firm to take part in court proceedings. [Glasgow Times]
McAvennie can't believe Rangers are still "dragging out" this issue.
"It's them against the world, isn't it?", McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
"How is this still going on? I remember months ago I said that it could harm every SFA club.
"I stand by that. Which company is going to want to invest in the league if they know one of the biggest clubs in there will take legal action?
"This needs to be sorted as soon as possible, they are dragging this out. It's not a good look for anyone.
"Honestly, when is this kind of thing going to end? It's so unneeded. It's just troublemaking."
Rangers are yet to display the Cinch logo at Ibrox this season.
The Gers currently sit top of the Cinch-sponsored Premiership.
