Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Celtic will take advantage of Rangers' European exploits and win Sunday's (1 May) Old Firm clash.

That's according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about this weekend's "massive" clash.

Celtic host Rangers at Parkhead on Sunday, looking to move even further ahead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The Bhoys will only need one point to secure the title if they beat their city rivals this weekend.

McAvennie is expecting the home side to win against a Rangers side that should be tired after their game against RB Leipzig on Thursday (28 April).

"I'm fairly optimistic we will get a result on Sunday," McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

"Celtic are well-rested and Rangers won't be so we have to exploit that.

"I'm hoping we can blow Rangers away and I think with the crowd behind us then we will.

"Rangers just defended for their lives against Leipzig so that should tire them out.

"But the last time they faced us after a European game they won so we have to be at our best to get something.

"Hopefully there are goals, Kyogo will want an Old Firm goal to his name for sure.

"I think it will be a good game with lots of goals because Rangers need the win.

"If they commit men forward it will open them up at the back and we can swarm them.

"Ange will want a bit of revenge after that cup loss as well but I do think we will get the job done."
