Mills shares verdict on Bielsa quitting Leeds for Tottenham amid 'talks' claim

Danny Mills has backed Marcelo Bielsa to snub any potential approach from Tottenham and stay at Leeds United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England full-back insisted Bielsa is extremely loyal and as long Leeds stick by him he will remain at Elland Road.

The north London club want somebody with Premier League pedigree as well as big club experience.

Bielsa's current Leeds contract expires this summer as he famously only signs 12-month deals.

“It’s one of those, it’s not about him getting what he wants, it’s about people being reasonable,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“He wanted Ben White last year and he didn’t get him and still stayed.

“He’s very understanding. As long as the club are working with him and they’re both pulling in the right direction…

“They’re not going to agree on every decision because that’s impossible.

“I genuinely believe that he has a huge degree of loyalty. As long as you do right by him, he’ll stand by you.

“I don’t see any issues at the moment with Leeds and Bielsa at the moment.

“He’ll be talking to Leeds about who they want to bring in.

“It’s what Bielsa does, he chooses to sign a one-year deal which also means that if you do need to get rid of him at some point, you don’t have to give him a massive pay-off.”

Bielsa has been in charge of Leeds for almost three seasons now - the longest time he has spent at a domestic club.
