Mills tips Winks joining Aston Villa or Wolves after spotting him 'house hunting'

Danny Mills spotted Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks playing golf in Birmingham and claims he could sign for Aston Villa or Wolves.

The former Leeds defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists Winks needs to be playing regular football.

A source has told Football Insider this stance is not expected to change regardless of who comes in as manager.

Tottenham would accept £30m for the 10-times England international, and could even sell for less.

Winks, 25, only started nine Premier League games last season though he featured heavily in the Europa League.

Mills spotted Winks playing golf at The Belfry in Birmingham and speculated he may have been house hunting ahead of a Midlands switch.

"I don't see him getting into that Spurs side," Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

"It depends who comes and goes this summer but he's down the pecking order. He has been for some time now.

"He needs to get playing. I see him going to Wolves and Aston Villa. He was seen playing golf at The Belfry.

"Let's assume he was househunting. I can confirm he was there."

Winks joined the Tottenham academy in 2002 and to date has made 173 appearances for the club.

He failed to make England's Euros squad despite making four international appearances in 2020.
