Moises Caicedo concern emerges as worrying trend spotted in Chelsea vs West Ham

Moises Caicedo may be one of the most talented midfielders in world football, but that doesn't mean the Chelsea star is without his pitfalls.

In between his suspensions, either for a red card or totting up too many cautions, Premier League fans often make fun of Caicedo's mistakes, but he remains one of the key players at Stamford Bridge.

Alongside Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo is seen as undroppable by Chelsea fans, and unsurprisingly, the £115million midfielder started against West Ham on Saturday, 31 January.

However, within seven minutes, the Blues found themselves a goal behind, with Crysencio Summerville doubling the away side's lead, and the 24-year-old, especially, was struggling with the pace of the game.

After just two minutes, the midfield maestro was dispossessed in the middle of the park, leading to a key chance for the Hammers, and it is a worrying trend that Pat Nevin has pointed out in West London.

The former Chelsea and Everton winger believes he has spotted something in Caicedo's game that needs to be addressed, especially with his teammates being put in a difficult position.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live (31 January, 5:34pm), transcribed by BBC Sport, Pat Nevin spotted a frustrating moment, saying, "Once every game, there is a wee lapse in concentration from Caicedo.

"It often happens early. Chelsea fans will hope that is the one lapse; it almost led to a goal."

The Blues could have been behind in the first couple of minutes, five minutes later, that is exactly what happened, with Robert Sanchez allowing Jarrod Bowen's cross to find the back of the net.

Liam Rosenior's frustrations apparent after what Chelsea star did

It was just the first of Caicedo's mistakes during the game, with the player frustrating his manager once again in the second half with a misplaced pass.

Rosenior was spotted with his hands on his head after the talented midfielder's pass to Malo Gusto was misplaced, leading to another dangerous attack for the visitors, albeit this one didn't come to anything.

The Blues can often depend on the star to come up with a huge moment, with five goals and two assists to his name this season, but he caused more issues than he solved against Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

Chelsea were completely overrun in the middle of the park, forcing Rosenior to make three changes at half-time, and thankfully, they made all the difference as the Blues turned the game on its head in the second half.
