Money not an issue – Ginola says 119-cap midfielder could move to Rangers thanks to Gerrard
Former France international David Ginola has put some more weight behind the seemingly improbable move for Wayne Rooney to Ibrox.
Michael Gray claimed yesterday that Gerrard should move for his former England colleague.
And now, talking on the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show, as quoted by the Scottish Sun, Ginola claimed that Rooney could do a job at Ibrox and help the Gerrard revolution.
"If they are mates, it could be the chance for Steven and Wayne to recreate something at Rangers," Ginola said.
"It would not be a money issue, him going to Rangers. The challenge is to play in the Scottish Premier League and to rebuild the club with Steven Gerrard."

This is definitely one of the summer's more outlandish transfer rumours, and until Rooney confirms his future it will persist. Rooney doesn't seem to be enjoying life at Goodison but with his career nearing the end, a more lucrative move to the MLS or China could be on the cards. However, that would all depend on Rooney, his family situation and what he wants to do in the future. If he fancies management, then this could be a chance to learn the ropes under Gerrard, while playing as well. Rangers obviously couldn't afford his wages so he'd need to take a huge cut for it to even be a realistic option, and there's no chance Everton would let him go on loan and continue subsidising him. However, Ginola obviously thinks there's a chance and is adamant that if he did move, money wouldn't be the issue. The chances? Probably around 2% and that's us being generous. But imagine if it did happen and Rooney, with 119 caps for England moved to Rangers? It would definitely be one of the most sensational moves in recent history.
