Morgan Gibbs-White, Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi updates from Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest find themselves in a horrific situation between keeping star players and abiding by PSR rules.

Former England goalkeeper Robinson, speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, said Forest notably face a battle not to be lowballed below a price tag on defender Murillo worth at least £40m.

After the club were punished with a points deduction for PSR breaches last season, they still secured survival in the Premier League but must now raise funds to balance the books before English clubs must declare their accounts on Sunday.

Football Insider revealed earlier this week [25 June] that Murillo, 21, is highly sought after by top Premier League clubs and Forest may be forced into a quick sale to bridge the gap to Financial Fair Play.

The young Brazilian was branded by Robinson as a "real find" when he was brought in last summer from Corinthians for around £10m, playing 32 Premier League games in his debut season at the City Ground.

Robinson has made the bold call that Nottingham Forest may even elect to take a points deduction if it means keeping hold of players such as Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White who can individually elevate their team higher up the Premier League table.

"I think he's a top player, great recruitment from Forest," the ex-Spurs stopper said.

"He's inexperienced but looks so experienced when he plays - I've seen him first-hand three or four times and he's had a great season.

"He was a really good find for what they paid for him, a real gem. Nothing seems to faze him, he puts his body on the line.

"Ideally, Forest want to be getting £40m-plus for Murillo. He's a top defender who has only been there one season.

"If they can't get deals to sell their fringe players over the line, the club run the risk of being lowballed for the likes of Murillo, [Callum] Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White.

"Then, they're in a really difficult situation, weighing up what's worse - losing one of their players for a lot less than they expected who could make a real impact on their points total, or a points deduction."
