Moshiri sets sights on Bundesliga supremo as Everton manager hunt takes new twist - report

Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has set his sights on RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick with a view to appointing him as manager, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claims that Rangnick, 59, may now be targeted by the Toffees as they aim to end what has now been an over four-week-long search for a manager after Ronald Koeman was sacked in October.
In a new twist in the tale, it is now understood that Blues chief Moshiri has turned his attention to Rangnick after the clubs' efforts to land Marco Silva from Watford failed.
The report states that the German had been interviewed by Everton in 2013 ahead of Roberto Martinez's appointment at the Goodison Park helm.
Backroom supremo Rangnick has worked wonders in the Bundesliga and is currently playing a huge role in RB Leipzig's rise to the top of the standings in Germany.
As manager, the 59-year-old oversaw two promotions in three years with Leipzig before changing his role to a sporting director.
He has also enjoyed success as manager with Hoffenheim and Schalke.

Rangnick seems to have the magic touch wherever he has gone in Germany. Before he was at Leipzig and Hoffenheim, there were small clubs that nobody outside of Germany had ever heard of. However he has seen them rise through the standings to help establish them as Bundesliga clubs that are now widely known across the continent. Everton could certainly do worse. Rangnick has a knack of finding hidden gems and bringing him could basically make Steve Walsh redundant in his role of director of football. That would be very popular among the Goodison Park faithful, who see Walsh as having a major part in the huge demise that the club has suffered this season.
