Nottingham Forest are bracing to lose star defender Murillo next summer after his stellar form, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old has caught the eye of top European clubs with his performances in the 2024-25 campaign.

Murillo has been widely linked with potential moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona, while Nottingham Forest turned down approaches from Premier League sides in the most recent summer window.

Sources say an exit for the left-footed defensive ace is now "inevitable" next year after his rise to stardom in England.

The Sao Paulo-born star has played 90 minutes in each of Forest's five Premier League games this term.

He has forged a formidable partnership with Nikola Milenkovic, who arrived at the City Ground in the summer.

Murillo is under contract with the Midlands club until June 2028 after arriving from Corinthians in 2023.

The centre-back has made 41 appearances for Forest, 37 of which have come in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest paid a reported fee of just £12.5million after add-ons for the 22-year-old star.
