Negotiations begin over powerhouse forward reportedly wanted by Tottenham, Poch must act fast
COMMENT
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino must act fast if he wants to sign West Brom forward Salomon Rondon in the summer transfer window after Brazilian giants Corinthians reportedly opened negotiations to sign the Venezuela international.
Brazilian news outlet Mercado da Bola has reported that Corinthians are ready to make a quick swoop for Rondon, 28, with their transfer window due to close in June.
West Ham and Chelsea were also said to be keen on Rondon, but now it seems that Corinthians have stolen a march on the Premier League clubs with a potential loan deal in the offing.
If Pochettino really wants Rondon in his squad then the Argentine manager will have to be as quick as possible to sign his fellow South American with Corinthians eager to get the deal done sharpish.
Spurs' transfer dealings are usually done late into the windows so Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy will have to scrap that approach and pounce as soon as they can if they want to land this particular target.
