Newcastle United remain interested in signing Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League club held talks with Burnley over a deal for the 21-year-old shot-stopper but could not secure an agreement.

Trafford has started and finished both of Burnley's Championship games so far this season as new manager Scott Parker seeks to earn promotion back to the Premier League.
