Nottingham Forest facing second devastating points deduction? New details emerge today
Nottingham Forest are projected to suffer losses of over £12million across the 2023-24 season, sources have told Football Insider.
However, they are on track to comply with all financial regulations and avoid another potential punishment next season.
Forest were handed a four-point deduction on Monday (18 March) after an independent commission ruled them guilty of breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules.
The regulations state that top-flight clubs cannot exceed losses of £105million over three years - Forest's allowable losses were £61million due to their time spent in the Championship.
As revealed by the Premier League's independent commission, Forest exceeded their allowable loss limit by £34.5million taking their overall losses in the last three years to around £95million.
Nottingham Forest to dodge further punishment despite £12m+ blow
In comparison, Everton's first points deduction followed an overspend of £19.5million.
Forest's breach resulted in a six-point deduction which was reduced down to four because of the club's compliance with the investigation.
Forest's projected losses for their 2023-24 accounts are between £12million and £17million which is enough to keep the club above the PSR limits.
They made an accounting loss of £47.7million in 2022 and £15.5million in 2021.
The Premier League are now in the process of changing their financial regulation model after top-flight clubs voted to implement a new system that caps spending to a percentage of revenue.
