Michael O'Halloran has launched a stinging new attack on Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha.

The winger, who is on a half season loan at St Johnstone, was frozen out by Caixinha and told he wouldn’t play while he was still in charge at Ibrox.

But he has hit back as the public slanging match intensified between the pair by claiming the Portugese lacks communication skills and his training sessions were "undemanding".

O’Halloran had his say after his form at the start of his second spell at St Johnstone won him the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award.

"I know my position there now, it’s pretty clear," he said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun. "I got the news from the papers, I’ve not heard anything from the manager.

“You don’t get much out of him in terms of what he’s thinking. He was quite hard to understand.”

O'Halloran returned to McDiarmid Park on loan over the summer and has scored four goals in four league games for Tommy Wright's side to help the Saints into third place.

At Rangers, he made 37 appearances, scoring three times, following his £450,000 arrival in January 2016.

The forward found himself in trouble with the club after failing to show up at an Under-20s match against Heart's at Stirling Albion's Forthbank Stadium in April.

Caixinha banished O'Halloran to train away from the squad for a number of weeks as punishment before looking to move him on over the summer.

O'Halloran's current loan deal ends in January.
