Tottenham striker Shayon Harrison returned from his loan spell at Yeovil to play for his parent club on Monday night.

The teenager, 19, joined the League Two club from the Premier League giants at the end of the transfer window after agreeing a loan move for the remainder of the season.

But he was back in action for Tottenham on Monday as he led the line for the Under-23s in their 1-0 Premier League 2 win over Sunderland.

Harrison played the full 90 minutes of the encounter at the Lamex Stadium but the only goal of the game was scored by Kazaiah Sterling, who marked his first appearance of the season for Ugo Ehiogu's side with a cool finish after five minutes.

"It was nice for Shayon Harrison to find a bit of rhythm and get 90 minutes in as well," said Ehiogu to the official Tottenham website.

It appears that Harrison was given permission by Yeovil to play for his parent club on Monday night due to his lack of game time during his loan spell.

There is no indication that his time at the fourth-tier club has been cut short, as Harrison prepares to return to the Somerset outfit.

The forward has made five appearances for Yeovil, one start in the in EFL Trophy and four substitute appearances in the league.

But he has yet to open his goal account for the club and has been an unused substitute in their last two League Two fixtures.

Harrison has explained he is keen to use the loan spell at Yeovil to gain important first-team experience against senior professionals away from youth-team football.

“(Getting) experience is one of my main objectives," said Harrison to the official Yeovil website. "It’s completely different to Under-23 football, it’s men’s football now and a better experience for me and something I need.
“A lot of Spurs players have come through this system and gone on to play at a top, top level so hopefully I can continue to do that as well.
“I want to follow in their footsteps and get to the top level if I can.”
Harrison is the latest in a line of players who have gone on loan to Yeovil from Tottenham, following England internationals Ryan Mason, Steven Caulker and Andros Townsend.

The teenage forward has made only one appearance for the senior Spurs side but has been a regular member of the development side, scoring 16 goals in 31 Premier League 2 matches in the last two seasons.
