Everton midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson must be "worried" about his future at Goodison Park, according to Paul Robinson.

The former Tottenham and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that the Iceland international has not performed to the expected standards all season.

The 30-year-old has started every single one of the Toffees' Premier League games since Carlo Ancelotti took charge, including the 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Robinson says that Ancelotti might have to sell in order to buy anyone during the January transfer window and insists Sigurdsson should be concerned about being sold if he cannot lift his game.

"I don't think any of them at Everton have got long to turn it around because Ancelotti has come in there to turn things around and a manager of his ilk is able to attract players of top, top quality," Robinson told Football Insider.

"There will be a whole new level of player interested in coming to Everton and I think Sigurdsson will be watching over his shoulder. I don't think he's performed well all season.

"There will be a lot of players worried about what's going to happen in January because I suspect there's not going to be another huge budget to spend. I think Ancelotti will have to sell before he buys."

Saturday's outing was Sigurdsson's 24th appearance across all competitions this season, but he has managed to contribute just one goal and one assist so far.
