Paul Robinson is worried about the prospective appointment of Eddie Howe at Celtic.

The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the top job at Parkhead would be a "huge test" for the 43-year-old who has never succeeded outside of his comfort zone.

He has been out of work since August after he left Bournemouth by mutual consent, following an eight-year spell their as manager.

Robinson cited

's 86-game spell as Burnley boss when revealing his apprehensions about his potential appointment.

"Eddie Howe would be an interesting appointment," he told Football Insider.

"He would be the first man in a long time to have no links to the club, or is a direct fan.

"He has got a good reputation in the game as a coach but is he a top manager? I would question that.

"He has not succeeded anywhere other than Bournemouth. He went to Burnley, that did not work out, so he went back to Bournemouth.

"He has always been in his comfort zone for me and that is why I would worry. He is held in high regard but he has never tested himself, he has never stepped out of his bubble.

"Celtic would be a huge test for him because it is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Whether Eddie Howe can handle that or not, we will have to wait and see."
