Celtic moved seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a 5-1 victory over Motherwell at Celtic Park.

The Hoops also extended their unbeaten run to 67 games, in what proved to be their easiest match of the three they played against the Steelmen this week.

French striker Odsonne Edouard was the star man with two goals in the first-half, the first a tap-in after good play by Ntcham and Sinclair, the second a fine solo finish.

The game petered out a bit in the second-half, until the Steelmen pulled a goal back through Elliott Frear.

Celtic stepped up a gear, with sub James Forrest scoring two goals and Edouard completing his hat-trick.

Brendan Rodgers will be delighted that the team he picked with Anderlecht in mind turned in a fine performance.

Here, Football Insider rates Celtic’s stars as they continued their dominance of Scottish football.

Goalkeeper and defenders

Craig Gordon - 5: Had one of his quietest games of the season, didn't have much to do at all until Motherwell scored, could have done better with the goal

Mikael Lustig - 6: Played well in both defence and attack, will be disappointed with the goal that Celtic conceded which the Steelmen back into a game which seemed all over

Kristoffer Ajer - 6: Strolled through the game with a minimum of muss until Motherwell's goal, must be considered the third choice centre-back behind Boyata and Simunovic

Dedryck Boyata - 6: Dealt with the threat of the very dangerous Louis Moult very well, didn't make any of the errors that he sometimes is prone to do, a point-off for the goal Motherwell conceded

Kieran Tierney - 7: As always, put in a fine display up and down the left wing, Celtic do need to consider signing another left-back soon before he suffers an injury

Midfielders

Celtic

Scott Brown - 7: Controlled the midfield as usual, involved in an incident with Louis Moult which saw him suffer a bloody face, the referee took no action

Olivier Ntcham - 7: Started his first game in a week, was heavily involved in the first goal and had a good game overall, may well start against Anderlecht

Jonny Hayes - 8: His best game for Celtic so far, constantly had the beating of his man on the wing and put in a host of superb crosses, may well feature more after Patrick Roberts' injury

Tom Rogic - 6: Mostly on the periphery of the game, had a goal disallowed eventually which was a good decision, but didn't really dominate like he can, missed a sitter to put Celtic 3-1 up

Scott SInclair - 7: Involved in the first goal and had a good game, everyone will be relieved that he wasn't involved in any controversial incidents today, ankle injury he suffered looks to be a concern

Odsonne Edouard - 9: Great performance from the on-loan PSG man, has given Brendan Rodgers food for thought when it comes to the number one striker role at Celtic Park

Callum McGregor - n/a: On too late to have any real impact in the game

James Forrest - 8: Two goals as a sub for the player who is possibly having the best season of his career, may well help Celtic fans forget about the injury to Patrick Roberts
