Swansea City are eyeing up a deadline-day move for West Ham striker Enner Valencia according to a report.

Football website ESPN FC claim that the Welsh club are weighing up a swoop for the 26-year-old before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Wednesday night.

It is said that Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin is still searching for another striker despite the recent addition of Spain international Fernando Llorente from Europa League holders Sevilla.

Ecuador international Valencia has been a regular starter in the early weeks of the new season for Slaven Bilic's team but is likely to slip down the pecking order following the landmark summer signings of Simone Zaza and Andre Ayew.

Andy Carroll and Ayew are both injured but the England international is expected to be fit in October, which will reduce the Ecuadorian's opportunities.

Where it is unclear how much the Swans are willing to now offer for Valencia, the Express claimed last month that the Hammers had already rejected an offer of £10million plus £3million in add-ons from Swansea for him.

The versatile attacker, who has two years remaining on his contract has had two mixed seasons with West Ham since joining from Pachuca in 2014 for £12 million, scoring just 10 goals in 70 appearances for the club.

He can play out wide or through the middle, which might be exactly what Swansea need, with a lack of goals and chances created so far this season at The Liberty Stadium.

Valencia has scored an impressive 16 goals in 29 international matches, has played in five matches for West Ham this season but has yet to open his scoring account.
