Paul Robinson is adamant there is "no chance" of Pep Guardiola leaving Man City to become Brazil's next manager.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT (11 December), the Brazilian FA want Pep Guardiola to be their next manager.

Man City

Brazil head coach Tite stepped down from his managerial position following their shock World Cup quarter-final defeat to Croatia last week (9 December).

Guardiola put pen to paper on a new two-year contract at the Etihad last month.

When asked by Football Insider if it was possible that Brazil could tempt Guardiola away from club football, Robinson issued a two-word verdict: "No chance.

"There is no chance of Pep leaving Man City for anywhere.

"He will not be going anywhere until he has won the Champions League. It is an itch he needs to scratch. That is why he was brought in in the first place.

"It has alluded him so far. I think it is something that has always irked him. When he wins that trophy it will be mission accomplished.

"I cannot see him leaving now though, not a chance, not with the players he has got in that squad. He has the best chance he has ever had of winning the Champions League this season. I'd make them favourites.

"I think Brazil will have to look elsewhere for their next manager."
