Alan Hutton has insisted Liverpool target Jude Bellingham is worth his £130million price tag.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers and Spurs defender said the 19-year-old is "incredible" for his age.

According to The Athletic's James Pearce (21 September), Borussia Dortmund will demand €150million (£132million) for Bellingham in the summer of 2023.

Man United

Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all said to have a “strong interest” in the centre-midfielder.

Bellingham has three years remaining on his contract in Germany.

When asked by Football Insider if £132million is too much for the England international, Hutton said: "That is a lot of money.

"But he is an outstanding football player at such a young age. He is only going to get better. It is incredible what he is doing at this moment in time.

"It is an area of the pitch where I think Liverpool need to improve. They need someone like that in.

"You have to look at Bellingham as a long-term investment. You are not buying a player for a couple of seasons. It is a signing for the next 10 years. Bellingham could be the mainstay of that team.

"Yes, £132million is high but I think he is worth it. He is so down to earth. Nothing seems to faze him. To play at such a high level at such a young age really is incredible."
