Pundit: My managers would be fuming amid Tottenham dressing room unrest
Paul Robinson has insisted that Fabio Paritici and Steve Hitchen should not be sitting alongside Tottenham players in the dugout on matchday.
The former Spurs keeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested his old managers would be fuming with the arrangement.
The Sun (September 5th) reports there is growing unrest in the Tottenham camp about Paratici and Hitchen’s appearances and behaviour in the dugout during games.
The pair's presence is reportedly due to the Premier League's rules on personnel allowed in the 'red zone' on matchday.
The Covid protocols for the Premier League will be reviewed in October.
Robinson claimed the dugout arrangements will not last much longer, adding that the pair "should be watching from afar".
“I think the bench is a place for the manager and their coaching staff," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.
“The sporting director and head of recruitment should be upstairs watching from afar.
“Players report to managers and coaches – the director of football isn’t the one taking training day in, day out.
“The bench isn’t a place for either of them.
“Managers I’ve worked with in the past would have had something to say had this been going on.
“It’s an arrangement I really can’t see lasting very long.”
The North London side currently sit at the summit of the Premier League table.
Spurs have taken maximum points after three league matches under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Paratici joined Tottenham as director of football this summer after leaving Italian giants Juventus.
Hitchen is now Spurs' director of technical performance after joining as chief scout in 2017.
