Phillips 'desperate' to quit Leeds after Bielsa 'power trip' - pundit
Kalvin Phillips may be "desperate" to quit Leeds United after being forced to play as a centre-back by Marcelo Bielsa, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed Bielsa is on a "power trip" after substituting Phillips at half-time during Leeds' 0-0 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The England international was back in a more familiar midfield role as the Whites beat Crystal Palace 1-0 yesterday (30 November).
He batted away suggestions of a falling out between himself and Bielsa to Amazon Prime Sport after the game.
But Agbonlahor has insisted things are not "rosy" at Elland Road.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: "They've got problems there with the manager and Kalvin Phillips.
"They seem to be having a bite at each other, it doesn't seem rosy there.
"If I'm a Leeds fan, I'm worried about the fact he took him off against Brighton when he wasn't injured. If I'm a Leeds fan I'm thinking 'Our best player is getting hooked at half-time'. Something is not right there.
"The game before against Spurs, the interview that Phillips did after the game you could tell he wasn't happy. Managers will see the interviews that players do.
"I reckon Bielsa saw that and thought 'I'm the manager here, I'm the big boss. You're a great player but I decide where you play'. Bielsa has had a sort of power trip by bringing him off.
"Leeds fans will be frightened, they're thinking 'We're lucky to have him!'. He's starting for England, he's been outstanding for England, there will be clubs dying for him.
"If he doesn't sort that relationship soon, he'll be desperate to leave. Even though he loves the club if he's not getting treated well when you're the star player..."
