Alan Hutton has been blown away by Keinan Davis after seeing his game time at Aston Villa increase.

Davis' former Villa teammate, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed he was frightened when training against him.

Davis, 23, scored his first Premier League goal in last week's 2-2 draw with West Brom with just minutes left to play.

The winger is yet to start a top flight game this season but has increasingly been used as a substitute by Dean Smith.

Davis' longest appearance of the season came in the recent 2-1 loss to Manchester City as he was brought on for the second half.

Hutton claims Davis has a point to prove every time he plays and insisted that he's a Premier League player.

"He's got a point to prove every time he comes on," Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

"He affects games. He did that in the Fulham game a few weeks ago, he's so strong.

"I remember training against him and he would just turn you, the strength he would show for a 20-year-old was frightening.

"So now he seems to be able to come on and he looks like he belongs there.

"He's scored his first Premier League goal and hopefully that's a start of good thing, his confidence will be building."

Davis has made 15 appearances in total this season with two starts coming in the EFL Cup.

His last appearance came against Everton on Saturday night though he only came on during injury time.
