Ralph Hasenhuttl: Pundit issues 'massive' Man United claim after manager stance confirmed in last 24 hours
Man United would be taking a "massive risk" by appointing Ralph Hasenhuttl as their next permanent manager.
That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about alternatives to Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag.
According to the BBC (7 March), the club's search for a new manager is "advancing".
The Mirror have reported (5 March) that Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has been added to a shortlist of candidates.
However, as quoted by Sky Sports (10 March), the 54-year-old played down speculation in a press conference on Wednesday.
He revealed that he is very happy at St. Mary's and has "everything" he needs as a manager.
When asked for his assessment of Hasenhuttl's credentials, Robinson told Football Insider's Dylan Childs: "Southampton have been very up and down.
"They are very inconsistent. I thought they were going to go down at the beginning of the season but I have been proved completely wrong. They seem to be capable of long winless runs and long unbeaten runs. It's a strange one.
"We talk about Hasenhuttl and we talk about Graham Potter and you have just wonder whether they will ever be given a chance at the very top level. There's no doubt about it, they've done extremely well where they are.
"Would somebody take a chance on them? Personally, I think it would be a massive risk from Man United to appoint Hasenhuttl given the characters in that dressing room."
