Rangers fans have been raging on Twitter after Alex Neil was made favourite to become the next manager at Ibrox.

Graeme Murty is expected to leave his role as manager at the end of the season after chairman Dave King failed to make any statement about his future earlier this month.

That led to multiple bookmakers opening the market on who will be Murty's successor at Ibrox and SkyBet have now installed Preston manager Neil, 36, as the 3/1 favourite to be in the Ibrox dugout for the first game of next season.

Neil began his management career in Scotland with Hamilton before moving the south of the border to take charge of Norwich, who he earned promotion to the Premier League with, and now Preston.

The Bellshill-born boss has a decent CV given his age, however it seems that Rangers fans do not want him anywhere near Ibrox.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Kilmarnock's Steve Clarke is another name that has constantly been in the mix and there's no doubt that it will be an extremely busy summer at Ibrox as they look to get a new manager and sort out the playing squad.
