Rangers fans have torn Daniel Candeias to shreds for his performance in the 3-1 loss to St Johnstone at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

Candeias, 29, was named to start by Graeme Murty against Tommy Wright's side, but many believe that the Portuguese winger has gone completely off the boil since Pedro Caixinha was sacked in October.

Caixinha welcomed a glut of Portuguese and Mexican players to Ibrox during the summer transfer window and Candeias was largely seen as the best of the bunch.

However after his performance against St Johnstone, many believe that he has become a dud, just like other summer buys like Carlos Pena and Dalcio.

One fan even claimed that "Francis Jeffers was better" than the former Benfica winger.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Since signing for the Light Blues in the summer, Candeias has made 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and supplying seven assists in the process.

Saying that he is worse than former Gers and Arsenal striker Jeffers is perhaps a bit harsh on the Portuguese winger tough, especially as the one-time England international didn't even manage to score a goal while on loan at Ibrox in 2005.

Jeffers' performances were so bad that he was sent back from his loan from Charlton after just a few months.
