Rangers supporters online have expressed excitement over the potential departures of experienced duo James Tavernier and Connor Goldson from the club.

Club captain Tavernier and centre-half Goldson have been linked with a reunion with former Gers boss Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League, and many fans at Ibrox believe it is time to move on from the duo and rebuild the squad entirely.

Tavernier, 32 - who scored 24 goals in 58 appearances last season - could command a £10m fee according to Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively told Football Insider [15 June].

Football Insider also revealed on 17 June that Goldson was high on Gerrard's list of priorities and Rangers are fearing they will lose the 31-year-old, who played 48 times last term.

Gerrard was the man who originally issued the captaincy to Tavernier six years ago, with the former Ibrox manager looking to improve on a sixth-placed finish in the Saudi table.
