Niko Kranjcar is considering quitting football at the end of the season, according to his dad.
The 33-year-old attacking midfielder has only made seven Premiership appearances for Rangers this season and has only featured for Murty since the turn of the year in the cup game against Fraserburgh.
In an Ibrox career plagued by injury he's only made 26 appearances since his move from the NY Cosmos in the summer of 2016.
And after Murty's transfer splurge in January he's plummeted down the pecking order at Ibrox.
He's out of contract in the summer and he's thinking of quitting according to his father Zlatko Kranjcar, the former Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia boss.
"After his major injury, he still gets a lot of pain in his knee. He still suffers from water in the knee," his dad said to the Scottish Sun.
"You would have to ask him whether he will continue when his contract expires in the summer.
"He was out for almost nine months and when he played since coming back, he played well. But frankly, it is more and more difficult for him.
"When you get an injury like that, it’s not just physical, it can be the psychological side of it too."
Kranjcar has had a storied career, with 81 caps for Croatia and three years at Tottenham.
It doesn't seem like he has a future at Rangers and now it sounds like it could be the end of his playing career when his contract runs out.
