Rangers player ratings v Dundee: Murty favourite 3/10 after shambolic display
COMMENT
Managerless Rangers slumped to their second defeat in a row after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Dundee at Dens Park on Friday night.
Mark O'Hara scored a brace off the back of some very lapse defending from the Light Blues which will no doubt force more pressure on the Ibrox board to bring to a conclusion their search to find a new permanent manager.
Rangers pretty much dominated the first-half with Neil McCann's side rarely getting forward, but failed to make the most out of some good opportunities.
Alfredo Morelos and Daniel Candeias both had great chances to put the Glaswegians ahead, but the side-netting and the goalkeeper would deny them both.
Dundee came into the game in the second period and were rewarded when Mark O'Hara made the most of a lapse in defence to blast the ball past Wes Foderingham in the 68th minute.
That goal sparked the Gers into life and Windass went on to fire a stunning strike past the Dee's goalkeeper to level the scores just four minutes after going behind.
However the introduction of ex-Ibrox midfielder Scott Allan changed the outlook of the game as he played in O'Hara to restore the home side's advantage with 10 minutes to go.
Here, Football Insider rates the players out of 10 for their performances at Dens Park.

Wes Foderingham - 6
Foderingham was barely tested in the first-half but after the break Dundee started to attack more and perhaps caught the Englishman with cold gloves.
Most of the efforts at him were tame but he should have done better on a couple of heart-in-mouth moments.
There wasn't a lot he could have done about Dundee's goal.

James Tavernier - 6
A big negative for Rangers in the first-half was the lack in quality of the final ball and Tavernier was a big suspect in that.
However the full-back got into some very good positions and whipped in a good number of crosses into the home side's box.
His delivery improved as the game progressed but he needs to stay alert when tracking back. Tavernier forgets he's not a winger at times.

Danny Wilson - 3
Wilson had an absolute nightmare in the heart of the Light Blues defence and was largely at fault for both of O'Hara's goals for the Dee.
The 25-year-old senior player has been standing in while Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso have been on the sidelines but Murty should recall one of them to his side instantly after his shambolic showing on Friday night.
Wilson seems as somewhat of a favourite of Murty after he stood with him despite having other options available but one thing Caixinha got right was to not play the ex-Hearts defender. He is not at the level Rangers need.

Ross McCrorie - 6
Not many teenagers have come through the ranks at Ibrox recently and looked as calm and composed as McCrorie.
The 19-year-old was absolutely solid in the first hour and Dundee didn't really have any chances due to the solid work of the centre-back.
However he sustained what looked like a painful injury in the first-half and that coincided with Dundee taking the advantage.

Declan John - 6
Rangers must try and get a deal sorted out for John, who is due to return to Cardiff at the end of the season and he looks as though he is someone who could be a long-term solution at left-back.
He was a very positive attacking outlet throughout the game and linked up well with the midfielders on the under-cut and over-cut to try and force the ball forwards.
There was one iffy moment when he passed the ball back to Foderingham despite their being a Dee attacker.

Jason Holt - 5
Holt had a very quiet game.
He was completely anonymous in the centre of the park and did very little to help out the Gers in both attacking and defensive phases of the game.
Murty, or whoever is in charge of the next game, needs to get rid of the ex-Hearts midfielder, who seems to have just played well on his return to the side and not at all since.

Ryan Jack - 7
Jack's playmaking was perhaps at the best it has ever been since he signed for Rangers from Aberdeen in the summer transfer window.
The midfielder has had his critics since moving to Ibrox but ultimately he has established himself at one of the biggest clubs in the country and earned his debut international cap for Scotland.
He was calm, composed and played in a number of high quality balls that should have really been tucked away by the attackers.
More performances like this from Jack will no doubt see him earn more caps in the future.

Josh Windass - 5
Even though he scored, Windass looked like a lost puppy at times - just where on Earth was he meant to be playing?
It's either Murty's tactics not getting through with the attacking midfielder or he just finds it hard to follow instructions because Windass was all over the shop - and not in a good way.
His passing was lapse and positioning was just as poor. His poor playmaking meant that the strikers had to come much deeper to find the ball.
Windass' rating would have been a lot lower if he didn't bag an important goal.

Daniel Candeias - 7
Candeias was a very lively spark in the Gers attack and showed glimpses of just what he was one of the best signings Pedro Caixinha made.
The Portuguese winger put in a high number of quality crosses and was unlucky to have not forced an own goal in the first half when his drilled ball was deflected on to the crossbar.

Kenny Miller - 4
Miller looked like he set out with a point to prove but in all reality, he just isn't up to the pace of the game anymore.
Rangers' attacking play seemed to stall whenever the ex-Wolves attacker got on the ball as he was either too deep or not quick enough to react to the play developing around him.
There were glimpses of quality here and there but not enough to prove that he is someone who should earn a new contract at the end of the season.

Alfredo Morelos - 4
Morelos' goal drought has shown no signs of stopping and his finishing in front of goal against Dundee was abysmal up until the point he was hooked due to an injury.
The Colombian is so desperate for a goal that he suffered potential broken ribs by throwing himself at the post.
But even then, his anticipation of the ball was dire and he also had a couple of chances to break his duck before being substituted.
Morelos could definitely benefit from a spell on the sidelines.

Eduardo Herrera - 4
Replaced the injured Morelos just before half-time due to an injury to the Colombian but has little impact up front. He completely missed the ball when defending the free-kick that put the Dee ahead.
Ryan Hardie - N/A
The young striker replaced Candeias in the 84th minute but had little chance to show anything.
