Rangers transfers: Five stars set to leave - sources

Rangers have told five first-XI stars that they can leave the club by Friday’s deadline, sources have told Football Insider.

Big names including Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi are part of the expected Ibrox Stadium exodus.

Rangers are also open to offers for Scott Wright and Alex Lowry after they have been deemed surplus to requirements.

Football Insider also revealed that the Gers are willing to loan out Leon King this week, but only if they bring in a new defender.

Philippe Clement has no plans for any of these players to be part of his first-team setup this season.

Lowry, Hagi, and Cantwell have recently been relegated to training with the B team, keeping them away from Clement’s first team training sessions.

Salford City have enquired about signing King, with the League Two club keen to add the young defender to their ranks.

Lowry could also be set to head to League Two as the recently relegated Carlisle United are pushing to sign the 21-year-old.

Football Insider reported that Rapid Bucharest are in talks to sign Hagi, but his current wages could be a stumbling block on that deal.

Cantwell handed in a transfer request earlier this summer, but there has been little movement since then.

Sheffield Wednesday had made a move for Wright early in July, but a transfer never materialised.

Clement has made it public knowledge throughout summer that Rangers need to sell players to fund transfers this summer.

Therefore, these five sales could provide him with the finances needed to make some late-window recruitments.
