Rangers will approach top-flight manager to replace Murty - BBC pundit
BBC Sport pundit Steven Thompson has claimed that Rangers will make an approach for Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke.
Graeme Murty is almost certain to leave his managerial role at the end of the season after overseeing a major drop in form over the last couple of months as well as the heavy Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic last week.
Ibrox chairman Dave King has also failed to back Murty in a recent interview, leading to many bookmakers to open the market on who will be the next man in the Govan hotseat.
Former Rangers midfielder Thompson in in the firm belief that the club will make a move for Clarke in the summer after the Scot oversaw a massive transformation of Kilmarnock's form in the Scottish top-flight.
"Rangers will make an offer for Steve Clarke," he said on Sportscene Extra's official Facebook page on Friday.

Clarke would be an excellent fit at Ibrox, but King will have to work hard to get Kilmarnock to allow the ex-West Brom and Reading boss to leave Rugby Park after doing a fantastic job there. Rangers need some kind of stability in their next manager choice but no matter who they get, the best they can still hope for is a second-placed finish in the Scottish Premiership, a cup final and maybe one or two Old Firm wins. Celtic will be ahead of Rangers for at least a few more years but Clarke is definitely the man that King needs on board.
